Frequently asked questions.
Who is Isar Informatics for?
For small and mid-sized businesses in the greater Munich area that either have no IT department of their own or want to take pressure off the one they have.
Do you come on site?
Yes. For infrastructure and network work we come on site in the greater Munich area; for managed services and cloud topics we also work remotely.
How quickly do you respond to a problem?
We agree response times individually during the initial consultation, depending on the service level you choose.
Do you offer training as well?
Yes, through our Academy — security and AI training, in-house or online, in German with practical examples.
What does switching from our current provider look like?
We take over existing environments regularly. First we review documentation, access and contracts, then we take over step by step — without a gap where nobody is responsible.
Can you take over an existing IT environment?
Yes. You don’t need to rebuild anything for us to start. We work our way into what’s already there and tell you openly what we’d change and what can stay.
Do you work on contracts or on demand?
Both. Some clients book fixed managed-services packages, others call us when they need us. Which makes more sense depends on your size and your risk — we’ll work that out in the initial consultation.
What does it cost?
That depends on scope. After the initial consultation we give you a concrete figure — no vague flat rates and no hidden line items.
How do you back up our data?
We set up automated backups and regularly test that they actually restore — details are matched to your environment.
What happens if something fails on a weekend?
We're reachable outside normal business hours too. We deliberately schedule bigger work like server migrations for weekends, so they don't disrupt your business during the day.
Where is our data stored?
In the EU. That matters to us, not just because of GDPR.
How long are we tied into a contract?
We work that out in the initial consultation and match it to what suits you — from project-based work to ongoing managed-services contracts.
Do you also procure hardware for us?
Yes. We advise on selection and handle procurement, setup and rollout — you don't have to wade through quotes yourself.
How quickly is a new employee ready to start?
Onboarding and device rollout are part of our managed services — we set up the laptop, accounts and software in advance, so everything works on day one.
What languages do you support in?
German, English, Spanish and French.
Do you support multiple locations?
Yes. We're on site in the greater Munich area; other locations we support remotely and via network connectivity.
Is it safe to use AI tools in our business?
That depends on the tool and on your data. That's exactly what we assess in an AI readiness check before introducing anything.
What does NIS-2 mean for our business?
That depends on your industry and size. In the initial consultation we check whether you're affected and what it means in practice.
What does a Microsoft 365 migration look like?
We plan the migration, test critical mailboxes in advance, and switch over in a way that keeps mail and files accessible throughout.
Do we always have the same point of contact?
Yes. You get one fixed point of contact, not rotating ticket handlers.
